I love a good nature walk in school but kids often end up doing the same trek time and time again. So here's an idea to make it a bit more interesting!
For the first half of the walk ask the kids to collect small pretty wild flowers, twigs and leaves. Encourage them to seek out as many different colours and textures as they can.
Sit the kids in a circle on the grass and ask them to share and compare what they've collected. Ask them to work in pairs and think up different pictures they could make out of their findings.

Hand out some sticky labels to each pair and let them get creative! Encourage them to keep working on their masterpieces for the rest of the walk.
Things I've learnt:
- Make sure your labels are good quality (i.e. very sticky!) or you'll have some sad kids when their creations start falling off!
These are just lovely! I'm almost attempted to print them out to show my son, who had Down syndrome. Your leaf art is a great 'visual' that inspires creativity to be sure!
